Emefa Apawu, Kwadwo Sheldon, Ameyaw Debrah, others to speak at TN Africa Digital Journalism Summit 2025

Some of Ghana’s most influential media and digital personalities are set to headline the TN Africa Digital Journalism Summit 2025, a bold new platform championing the future of African storytelling and climate communication.

The summit, themed “Shaping Africa’s Future Through Climate Journalism,” comes off on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the British Council Auditorium, Accra, bringing together journalists, creators, and thought leaders to explore how storytelling can inspire civic action on climate change.

Among the confirmed speakers are Emefa Apawu, award-winning communications expert and broadcast journalist; Kwadwo Sheldon, digital content creator and YouTube personality; and Ameyaw Debrah, renowned entertainment journalist and blogger. They will be joined by Elikem Kotoko, Deputy CEO of the Forestry Commission, Senior Journalist Abena Soreno, social advocate and media personality, and several experts from Ghana’s environmental and academic sectors.

The summit will feature two main panel discussions and a series of keynote sessions.
Panel 1, “Climate Change & Human Impact,” will explore how journalism can connect policy with people’s everyday realities, while Panel 2, “Clicks & Credibility: Navigating Journalism in the Digital Age,” will examine how digital creators can use their platforms to drive climate conversations beyond trends and entertainment.

Deputy CEO of the Forestry Commission, Elikem Kotoko will deliver a keynote address on “Telling Ghana’s Green Story in the Digital Age”, highlighting how digital storytelling and youth voices can demystify forestry, conservation, and sustainability in Ghana.

Speaking ahead of the event, Senanu Damilola Wemakor, Lead Convener of the Summit and Ghana Representative for TN Africa, emphasized the urgency of reshaping climate narratives across the continent. “This summit is about empowering journalists and digital storytellers to lead the next wave of climate communication in Africa,” Wenakor said. “We’re creating a platform where media meets impact, bridging the gap between climate data, community stories, and policy action.”

The special guest of honior event will be H.E. Juliette Bynoe-Sutherland, Barbados High Commissioner to Ghana.

The TN Africa Digital Journalism Summit 2025 is part of TN Africa Media’s commitment to empowering young storytellers to use journalism and digital platforms as tools for social change. The event will also launch the TN Africa Climate Story Challenge, a youth-focused initiative to encourage creative reporting on sustainability and environmental resiliency
