Popular Californian lawyer, Gal Pissetzky has debunked claims that popular Nigerian big boy Hushpuppi is guilty cybercrime charges.
Pissetzky who is Hushpuppi’s legal representative in his ongoing criminal case recently granted an interview to Forbes where he debunked the allegations while clarifying his source of income.
“Abbas is absolutely not guilty of [the] charges they are accusing him of. He was running a legitimate business and a very legitimate Instagram account and did not take part in any scam or fraud”, said Pissetzky.
“He’s an entrepreneur. He has real estate involvement … [he’s] an Instagram personality. He was promoting brands and that’s how he was very legitimately making his money”.
Recall Ramon Abbas also known as Hushpuppi arrived in the United States on Friday, July 3 to face cybercrime charges after his much-publicized arrest in Dubai.
According to reports, Hushpuppi is being held in a correction centre in Chicago as he awaits his bail hearing billed for Monday. If convicted of conspiracy to engage in money laundering, the Nigerian businessman faces a 20-year sentence in federal prison.
