Due to violations of the Guinness World Records’ regulations, a Ghanaian chef’s effort to break the record for the longest cooking marathon has failed.
An unsuccessful attempt to beat the record was caused by Chef Failatu’s team’s violation of the rest break regulations, which was reported on Sunday.
“A statement from the Records Management Team cited a violation of the rest break rules, resulting in an unsuccessful attempt,” said Kafui Dey, the team co-ordinator.
After cooking continuously for more than 227 hours, her attempt in January seemed to have smashed the record, causing great excitement throughout Ghana.
Public leaders from all throughout the nation, including politicians, celebrities, and even the Ghanaian military, supported the cook-athon.
The Guinness World Records declared Nigerian chef Hilda Baci the winner of the world culinary marathon record in June of last year.
Her dominance was short-lived, though, as Irish chef Alan Fisher beat her by over a day.
