Nigerian singer Burna Boy has responded to claims by South Africa’s Sho Madjozi that he deliberately deleted a song she was featured on titled “Own It’ because he saw her as a competitor in the upcoming BET awards.
UK rapper Stormzy featured BurnaBoy and Ed Sheeran on a hit single ‘Own It’ sometime last year.
Subsequently, two months age, the artiste released a remix of the song featuring Sho Madjozi and Burna Boy.
both Sho and Burna have been nominated for Best International Act for this year;s BET Awards.
In twitter thread Sho continuously attacked Burna Boy for deliberately deleting the song, expressing shock because she and Burna Boy were friends after they met at last years BET.
Burna Boy won the Best Intentional Act whiles Sho Madjozi won the Best New International Act i 2019.
“In his response, Burna tweeted that the removal of the song had nothing to do with him or the awards as the remix wasn’t “properly” cleared with his record label.
