Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, and Minority Leader of Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, are set to headline the second edition of the African Governance and Anti-Corruption Summit, scheduled for June 16, 2026, in Accra.
The summit, organised by youth-led civil society organisation, The Bright Future Alliance (TBFA), will take place at the British Council under the theme: “Corporate Institutions and Public Agencies as Pillars of Accountability: Strengthening Governance Systems for Sustainable National Growth.”
According to the organisers, the summit aims to provide a platform for stakeholders to examine governance challenges, strengthen accountability mechanisms, and explore practical solutions to corruption and economic crimes across the continent.
Dr. Ayine, who will deliver the keynote address, is expected to outline government-led legal and institutional reforms aimed at promoting transparency and building resilient public institutions.
The event will also feature contributions from key figures in governance and public accountability, including Vice Chairperson of Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee and MP for Mpraeso, Davis Ansah Opoku; Majority Chief Whip, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor; Executive Secretary of the Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition, Beauty Emefa Narteh; Executive Director of TBFA, Bright Ofori; and a representative from the Internal Audit Agency.
Organisers say the summit will bring together policymakers, civil society organisations, diplomats, corporate leaders, students, and youth activists to discuss strategies for strengthening governance systems and promoting sustainable development.
Activities lined up for the summit include keynote presentations, panel discussions, and youth-centred dialogues designed to encourage direct engagement between policymakers and young people on governance and accountability issues.
TBFA noted that the summit forms part of its broader efforts to promote good governance, combat corruption, and empower young Africans to participate actively in democratic processes.
The organisation has extended an invitation to journalists, civic groups, student leaders, development partners, and members of the private sector to participate in what it describes as a critical conversation on Africa’s governance future.
The event begins at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at the British Council in Accra.
