Africa’s Travel Indaba 2025 launches with BONDay

Africa’s premier tourism trade exhibition, Africa’s Travel Indaba, is set to commence on Monday with the return of its highly anticipated BONDay (Business Opportunity Networking Day).

This dynamic one-day event, hosted by South African Tourism, will take place at the Durban International Convention Centre on May 12, setting the stage for a week of continental tourism engagement.

BONDay serves as a strategic launchpad for the main Indaba, offering an immersive experience focused on collaboration, insight sharing, and business opportunities across Africa’s tourism sector.

“BONDay is where Africa’s tourism thinkers meet its doers. It’s a place to connect, collaborate and co-create the future of tourism on our continent,” says Darryl Erasmus, Chief Operations Officer at South African Tourism.

The initiative comes at a critical time for Africa’s tourism industry, which continues to navigate recovery in an increasingly competitive global market. BONDay aims to provide stakeholders with practical tools and connections to strengthen their position in this evolving landscape.

At the heart of the event is a commitment to Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs), recognizing their vital role in building an inclusive, sustainable tourism economy. The program has been specifically designed to connect entrepreneurs with global insights and opportunity pipelines.

Industry leaders emphasize that BONDay represents more than networking – it’s about strategic partnership development that drives inclusive sector growth while showcasing African excellence and innovation through thought leadership.

The comprehensive program taking place at the Durban ICC on Monday will feature sessions focused on practical business development, market access strategies, and forward-thinking tourism initiatives.

Tourism stakeholders from across the continent are encouraged to participate in this foundational day of Africa’s Travel Indaba 2025, which continues to cement its position as the continent’s most influential tourism trade gathering.

BONDay is a platform to shape ideas, spark opportunity, and showcase the best of Africa. Don’t
miss it.
