Ghanaian dancehall musician Stonebwoy continues to receive accolades for his recently released ‘Anloga Junction’ from individuals and highly placed personalities alike.
Latest in the list is Grammy Award nominee Rocky Dawuni.
The Beats of Zion composer speaking on GBC Radio Central acknowledged that Stonebwoys masterpiece had the potential and possibility of getting a Grammy Nomination.
He said “In the Grammys getting a nomination is as powerful as getting the award itself. It took Ghana about 50 years to get a Grammy nomination so it won’t be difficult to get another nomination. Stonebwoy’s album has the potential and possibility to get a Grammy nomination.”
Schooling on the dynamics to getting a nomination, he said “but what we need to know is that with every album you have about 20,000 voting members who are all musicians spread around the world. So everyone’s case is different and what everyone perceives to be a great album according to their opinion is different.”
He was however quick to note that “It’s not only Stonebwoy’s album but there are a lot of albums which have been released by Ghanaian artistes that deserve a nomination in the Grammys.”
