Remove Kempinski Accra from Israeli Film Festival promotion – Embassy urged

The Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra has distanced itself from the ongoing promotion of an Israeli Film Festival to be held in Accra, Ghana, this September.

According to the management of the hotel, they were not aware of such an event and are not sponsors as depicted on the event’s promotional material.

The hotel, in a statement made available to TN Africa, formally clarified its alleged involvement in the event.

The statement sai,d “Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra wishes to issue a formal clarification regarding its alleged involvement
in the upcoming Israeli Film Festival, scheduled to be held from 16–20 September 2025 at Silverbird Cinema, Accra Mall.”

The statement went on to note that “Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra is not a sponsor of the Israeli Film Festival. The hotel has only recently
become aware that its name and logo have been included on the event’s advertising and promotional materials.”


“This information is inaccurate and was published without the hotel’s knowledge or authorization.”

It ended “we respectfully request that the Israeli Embassy and all event organizers take immediate steps to correct the promotional materials to reflect the fact that Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra is not a sponsor of this event.
