Ghanaian musician Edem has been named the Volta Region host for Revealed: The New Era 2.0, as the travel and lifestyle series begins its nationwide “Know Your Regions” tour.
The announcement places the musician at the centre of the show’s exploration of the Volta Region, where he will guide viewers through selected destinations, cultural experiences, heritage sites and local stories that reflect the region’s identity.
The second season of Revealed: The New Era adopts a celebrity-led format, pairing personalities with regions they have a connection to. The approach seeks to present Ghana’s tourism destinations through familiar voices while encouraging audiences to discover places beyond the country’s better-known attractions.
Under the “Know Your Regions” concept, the 13-episode season will travel across Ghana, showcasing the people, places, culture, food, history and experiences that distinguish the country’s 16 regions.
The Volta Region offers a diverse mix of coastal landscapes, mountains, waterfalls, historic sites and traditional craftsmanship. Among the locations featured in the programme’s Volta journey are the Cape St. Paul Lighthouse at Woe, Fort Prinzenstein in Keta, the kente-weaving community of Tafi Abuife, Mount Gemi and Amedzofe.
Together, these locations offer different perspectives on the region, from its coastal and historical heritage to its mountainous scenery and living craft traditions.
Edem’s involvement also brings a personal connection to the regional showcase. Known for his music and association with the Volta Region, the musician joins the production in presenting the region through its destinations, communities and experiences.
The new season has received endorsement from the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), which recognises the series as a platform for showcasing Ghana’s tourism offerings to domestic and international audiences. The Authority has also encouraged its regional directorates to assist the production team in accessing tourist attractions where practicable.
The endorsement supports the programme’s focus on domestic tourism and its effort to create greater visibility for destinations, cultural heritage and tourism-related businesses across the country.
Beyond television, Revealed: The New Era 2.0 will feature supporting digital and behind-the-scenes content across Revealed, Bola Ray and EIB Digital platforms, extending the audience’s engagement with the locations and experiences featured in the series.
The season will air on GHOne TV, with the production expected to feature destinations across all 16 regions.
With the Volta Region among the first destinations being explored, Edem’s appearance sets the tone for a season built around discovering Ghana through the people who know its regions best.
