QNET condemns criminal misuse of its name as Ghanaian authorities intensify action against fraudulent recruitment networks

QNET reiterates that it does not offer employment, overseas jobs or guaranteed income and remains committed to working with Ghanaian authorities to protect the public

Accra, Ghana, September 23, 2026 – QNET, an international lifestyle and wellness company, has taken note of recent reports concerning operations by Ghanaian authorities involving individuals allegedly deceived through fraudulent recruitment schemes using the QNET name.

The reports include the rescue of 251 young people during an operation by the Ashanti Regional Police in the Bohyen–Ampabame area of Kumasi. Separately the Minister for Foreign Affairs has reportedly stated that more than 300 Ghanaians have been rescued or repatriated from Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire since the beginning of 2025 in cases described as QNET-related, which involve criminal networks misusing the QNET name.

QNET condemns the activities of individuals and organised networks that misuse its name, brand or business model to deceive members of the public. Such activities are completely unauthorized and have no place in QNET’s legitimate business which is based on the direct selling of products through Independent Distributors. QNET does not offer employment, job placement, overseas jobs, visa processing, travel arrangements, investment opportunities or guaranteed income. Any person who represents otherwise, particularly where money is demanded in exchange for employment or travel opportunities, is acting contrary to QNET’s policies and Code of Ethics.

The company recognises that criminal networks have exploited the QNET name and business model as well as other prominent businesses to perpetrate fraudulent recruitment and trafficking schemes. Law-enforcement authorities refer to this criminal methodology as “Model Q”—the misuse of the QNET and other business names and business model by organised criminal networks to facilitate activities including fraudulent employment schemes and human trafficking. This activity is distinct from QNET’s legitimate direct-selling business.

Due to the sophisticated nature of these activites, QNET’s commitment to cooperation  builds on its partnership with the several stakeholders including The Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana Police Service, the UNODC, the Embassy of Burkina Faso and Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) which has so far culminated in the signing of  a Memorandum of Understanding with EOCO, which provides a framework for collaboration in areas including public education, information sharing, providing repatriation assistance to victims and other efforts to address criminal activities involving the misuse of the QNET name. These efforts have been extended to at least 12 other West and Central African countries where QNET is engaging with relevant law enforcement agencies to provide critical assistance to bring perpetrators to justice

Cherif Sarr, Regional General Manager, QNET Central and West Africa Region, said:

“We are deeply concerned by reports of individuals being deceived through criminal schemes that misuse the QNET name. Our thoughts are with those who have been affected, and we welcome the efforts of the Ghanaian authorities to rescue and protect vulnerable persons.

“QNET has zero tolerance for fraud, human trafficking or any misrepresentation of our business as an employment or guaranteed-income opportunity. We remain ready to work with the relevant Ghanaian authorities to support investigations, share relevant information within the appropriate legal framework and strengthen public education so that more people can recognise and avoid these fraudulent schemes.

“Our engagement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 7 August 2026 reflects our commitment to maintaining an open and constructive dialogue with the Ghanaian Government. We remain available for further discussions with the Ministry and other relevant authorities to better understand the concerns arising from these cases and identify practical ways in which QNET can support efforts to protect Ghanaian citizens.”

On 7  August 2026, QNET representatives engaged with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide information on the company’s legitimate business model, products, compliance framework and measures to address the criminal misuse of its name. QNET welcomes opportunities for similar enagements with the Ministry and other relevant authorities, where it can share information and practical insights that support efforts to protect Ghanaian citizens from fraudulent recruitment and trafficking networks.

As part of its broader consumer-protection efforts, QNET has implemented its QNET Against Scams campaign in Ghana and other African markets to educate communities about fraudulent recruitment practices, common scam tactics and the unauthorised use of the QNET name. The company continues to encourage members of the public to verify claims through official channels before making payments or sharing personal or financial information.

QNET maintains a comprehensive compliance framework for its Independent Distributors and prohibits the promotion of its business as a job opportunity, the promise of guaranteed earnings and any misleading representation of its products or business model. Where violations involving QNET Independent Distributors are established, the company may take appropriate disciplinary action, including suspension or termination.

Members of the public should be particularly cautious of anyone claiming to offer a QNET related job, overseas employment, visa, travel opportunity or guaranteed income in exchange for payment. Such offers are not part of QNET’s business and should be reported to the appropriate authorities and QNET.

QNET remains committed to working constructively with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, EOCO, Ghana Police Service, Ghana Immigration Service and other relevant authorities to combat criminal misuse of its name, strengthen public education and contribute to efforts aimed at protecting Ghanaian citizens.
